Privacy Policy

Information you provide

When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication information. When you use the app, you may save names, companies, job titles, cities, meeting details, notes, relationship information, interaction history, tags, and photos about people you want to remember.

You choose what to enter. Please avoid saving sensitive information you do not need and respect the privacy of the people whose details you record.

Voice and typed memory processing

Before any AI processing, the app explains what will be sent, identifies OpenAI as the third-party processor, and asks for your permission. Nothing is sent unless you choose Allow.

If you allow voice processing, the audio recording you choose to submit is sent securely through our Supabase backend to OpenAI so it can be transcribed and organized into a memory card. If you allow typed-memory processing, the text you choose to submit is sent through the same secure path to OpenAI so names and useful details can be organized into a memory card. Ordinary typed searches of people already saved in the app are performed locally and are not sent to OpenAI.

Supabase and OpenAI may process the submitted content only to provide these app features and are required to protect it under safeguards at least as protective as those described here. We do not use submitted memories to train our own models. Audio recordings are not saved as part of your person card after processing; the resulting transcript and memory details may be saved when you choose to save the card.

Photos, contacts, and social search

The app accesses your camera, photo library, or contacts only after you grant permission and choose the relevant feature. Selected photos are stored with your account in private cloud storage. Contact access is used to import details you select; the app does not upload your entire address book.

If you use public profile search, the person’s name is sent to Brave Search to locate publicly indexed social-profile pages. Search results can be incorrect, and you are responsible for confirming the correct person and that your use of a photo is appropriate.

Subscriptions

Premium purchases are processed by Apple. RevenueCat helps the app recognize subscription status and may process purchase identifiers and entitlement information. We do not receive your full payment-card details.

How information is used

• Provide, sync, and restore your person cards and memories.
• Transcribe recordings and organize notes you ask the app to process.
• Recognize Premium access and enforce the free-plan limit.
• Protect the service, troubleshoot problems, and respond to support requests.

We do not sell your personal information or use your saved memories for advertising.

Storage, security, and retention

Account data is stored using Supabase. Person photos are kept in private, account-scoped storage. We use reasonable safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Information remains until you delete it, delete the related person card, or delete your account, subject to limited records that must be retained for legal, fraud-prevention, or transaction purposes.

Your choices

You may decline AI processing and continue using non-AI features, including viewing and searching saved people. You can edit or delete person cards in the app, remove photos, revoke device permissions in iOS Settings, manage your Apple subscription, or delete your account from Account settings. Deleting the app alone does not cancel an Apple subscription.

Children

I Suck at Names is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes and contact
